Farhad Nouri (فرهاد نوری; born 1997), also known as Farhad Jafar Nourikhorjestan, is an Iranian freestyle wrestler. Competing in the 74 kg weight class, Nouri won the bronze medal at the 2026 European Wrestling Championships while competing under the banner of United World Wrestling (UWW).[1][2]

Career

Nouri won the silver medal in the men's freestyle 70 kg event at the 2019 Asian U23 Wrestling Championships while representing Iran. In the final in Ulaanbaatar, he lost to Mongolia's Temuulen Enkhtuya on criteria after the bout ended 11–11.[3][4]

At the 2026 European Wrestling Championships held in Tirana, Albania, Nouri won the bronze medal in the men's freestyle 74 kg event. In the qualification round, he lost 3–2 to Azerbaijan's Turan Bayramov, but entered the repechage after Bayramov reached the final. In the bronze-medal match, Nouri defeated Georgia's Giorgi Elbakidze to finish in third place.[1][5]

Nouri no longer represents Iran, having relocated to London, United Kingdom and joined the Olympics Refuge Foundation's Athlete Scholarship Programme. As of 2026, he competes as a IOC Refugee Team athlete.[6] His training in Great Britain has been supported by the British Wrestling Association.[7] He participated in 2026 EWC games without national representation, competing under a nominal UWW affiliation.[8] During the tournament, Nuri became the first Refugee Team athlete to win a European medal.[9]
