Farnaz Salmani (Persian: فرناز سلمانی‎) is an Iranian-born fashion designer who lives and works in Istanbul, Turkey. She is the founder of the labels Off-Shoulder and Farnaz Salmani Wedding Dress. Her designs have appeared in Turkish fashion magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar Türkiye, Marie Claire Wedding, and Oggusto.[1][2][3]

Career

Salmani started her career in Tehran, working in local ateliers before moving to Istanbul. In 2020 she presented an eveningwear collection at Hangarist, Sarıyer. The event was attended by Turkish public figures and reported by Harper’s Bazaar Türkiye.[1] In 2021 she was featured by Marie Claire Wedding Türkiye, where she discussed the development of her bridal line and her decision to base production in Istanbul.[2]

Design

Media coverage has described her designs as structured and sculptural, often using off-shoulder silhouettes and satin-based fabrics.[1] In interviews, she has said that her work draws from Iranian art forms while using techniques common in European couture.[3]

Reception

Harper’s Bazaar Türkiye and Marie Claire Wedding Türkiye both covered her runway work and bridal collection, noting her role in Istanbul’s independent fashion scene.[1][2] Her profile was also included in Oggusto magazine’s “Turkish Fashion Designers” feature.[3]
