Farron Cafe

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Farron Cafe (previously Farronccino Cafe) is a frappe business headquartered in The Philippines. It serves beverages such as Frosty Frappe, Iced Coffee, Smoothies, and Milk Tea. The Farron Cafe brand was founded in 2010 by the young couple Ronnel Hombre and Farwa Hombre (maiden name: Farwa Marquez) to finance their studies. The idea of the brand is to make a localized version of luxury frappe at a much cheaper price.[1]

With a business model of "on-the-go drinks", Farron Cafe took off as a cheap, but luxurious beverage.

History

With funds amounting to ₱50,000 pooled from a personal loan from a college professor and pawned jewelry, Ronnel and Farwa opened the first ever branch of Farron Cafe beside the University of the East Manila on February 15, 2010. The branch was a food cart without tables or chairs that served Frosty Frappe, Iced Coffee, Smoothies, and Milk Tea. It became a huge hit with the students.[1][2]

The second branch opened the following month. Thus, the two received advice to take a bigger loan to open a bigger shop. After pawning their gadgets and jewelry, the young couple finally pooled ₱100,000. Their funds went to leasing space in Manila to house the third branch of Farron Cafe. In six months, they recovered their initial investment, which they reinvested.

For their staff, Farron Cafe opened its arms to out-of-school youths. They were trained to be baristas to serve customers.

In 2012, after receiving several inquiries, Farron Cafe opened itself for franchising. Farron Cafe has then offered several franchise packages for different markets.

In 2014, Farron Cafe started hiring PWDs as part of the company's corporate responsibilities. With this step, Farron Cafe earned the admiration of warmhearted Filipinos who had ordered from a branch manned by a PWD. In 2019, the Farron Cafe brand was slandered by a customer for bad service due to a blind and deaf PWD staff member not being able to hear his order.[3]

On October 3, 2014, Farron Cafe filed for a trademark with the name "Farron Cafe" with the classification of "Restaurants and catering services".[4]

In 2020, Farron Cafe had opened 250 branches in The Philippines. It was a huge milestone for the company, as it started from a small startup funded by loans and pawned jewelry.[5]
