Fast Buds is an American cannabis producer and seed bank known for its cannabis seeds and autoflowering cannabis seed products. It was founded in 2011 by a team of breeders and is currently based in Los Angeles, California. The company has won over 20 different awards in cannabis breeding competitions worldwide, including the Best Sativa Strain award at the 2022 Autoflowering World Cup and Best Autoflower award at the 2022 Cosecha Cup.[1]
History
Fast Buds’ founders developed the company’s products by experimenting with autoflower/ruderalis genetics in their garages.[1][2]
Fast Buds signed its first distribution contracts in 2014 and began selling its products in the EU.[1]
In 2015, Fast Buds attended its first international event, Spannabis, in Barcelona, Spain.[1] The company also won an award at the Copa Secreta in Chile in 2015.[1]
In 2016, Fast Buds released another of its most well-known award-winning products, the Gorilla Glue Auto strain, which eventually became the best-selling autoflower strain of all time.[1] The brand also won awards for three years straight (2016-2018) at Copa Canábica Litoral de los Poetas in Chile.[1]
By 2021, Fast Buds was considered the largest autoflower seed bank in the world, with 1,000 recorded points of sale worldwide.[1]
In 2022, Fast Buds won a number of awards, including the Best Seedbank award at the India/Sativa Trade show, the Best Autoflower award at the Cosecha Cup, the Best Sativa Strain award for Gorilla Punch Auto at the third annual Autoflowering World Cup, and Best Autoflowering Seed Bank at the Growdiaries Poty Cup.[1]
At the 2023 American Autoflower Cup in Los Angeles, Fast Buds won first place in the sativa and indica categories for the strains Strawberry Gorilla and Banana Purple Punch.[3] In addition, Fast Buds took second place in the sativa category for the Gorilla Punch strain.[3]
Products
Fast Buds’ breeding process includes resistance and taste tests, as well as enforcing quality standards to ensure phenotypes carry the best possible traits and cannabinoid and terpene profiles.[4] Fast Buds specializes in breeding and genetics techniques originating from the United States.[5]
The company released its first five autoflower strains, Mexican Airlines, Crystal Meth, G14, C4matic, and Northern Express, in 2012.[1]
In 2015, Fast Buds released the strain named Girl Scout Cookies Auto, which became one of the brand’s best-selling autoflowers internationally.[1] Purple Lemonade Auto is another of the company’s best-selling autoflower strains.[6]
In 2022, the company launched several new strains, including Gorilla Zkittlez Auto, Cherry Cola Auto, Strawberry Gorilla Auto, Banana Purple Punch Auto, Gorilla Punch Auto, and Amnesia Zkittlez Auto.[7][8]
Other strains sold by Fast Buds include Wedding Cheesecake Auto, Gelato Auto, and Gorilla Cookies Auto.[5]
