Fatsani - Tale of Survival is an upcoming 2021 Malawian drama film written, directed by Gift Sukez.[1][2][3][4]

Plot[edit]

A young girl who lives with her grandmother is forced to sell bananas in the streets for survival after her school is closed due to sanitation issues and corruption. We see her struggling, as she suffers various forms of abuse from the ones who are supposed to protect her.

After losing her parents in a road accident, Fatsani also loses her chance to quality education when her school is closed due to sanitation issues and corruption. She is forced to become the breadwinner when her grandmother falls sick. Fatsani is trying to make ends meet by selling bananas in the streets for survival but she is struggling as she suffers various forms of abuse from the ones who are supposed to protect her. At 11 years of age all she knows and do, is to make sure that she survives but things get worse when the government through the city assembly, command city officials to remove street vendors. The city officials do not only snatch and take all the goods but they also molest the street vendors which result to a massive protest for justice and its sparked by Fatsani as she joins and leads the protests to fight for her rights.

Release[edit]

Fatsani - Tale of Survival was originally scheduled to be theatrically released in 2020 Malawi but due to Covid 19 the film was pushed back to 2021.
