The Faye Emerson Show was a family talk show with host Faye Emerson that began airing in October 1949.[1] Faye Emerson[2] was a Chicago born, girl next door, classical beauty who is known for many projects and for her marriage to President Roosevelt's son, Elliott Roosevelt.[3] This show was marketed as an "informative, informal show". The Faye Emerson show covered events from Hollywood to Hyde Park. It featured high-level celebrity guests including Faye Emerson's husband at the time Elliot Roosevelt[4], as well as James Montgomery Flagg and Russell Patterson to name a few. Guests would come on her show and she would interview them and they would perform a song, dance, artwork, or display different talents.[5] The show was also known for its sponsor being Pepsi Cola. Marian Parsonnet who worked with advertisements in Pepsi Cola directed the company towards film sponsorships where they then purchased a film studio in Long Island. From there they sponsored The Faye Emerson Show, which at the time was a 15 minute program[6], where Faye would perform an open and close live product display. The show was produced and directed by Edgar A Peterson[2] as well as Hardie Frieberg, and Richard Linkroum.[7] The show would air on ABC channel 7 WJZ-TV at 11:00 pm every Thursday night in the year of 1951.[8] In 1951 The Faye Emerson Show was a Radio Television Mirror Award For 1950 for Favorite TV Women's Programming.[9] The show is known for Faye Emersons big personality and gave her space and coverage to connect with her audience and get her name out there. She was even called "the Vibrant First Lady of TV" from her time on the show.[10] Eventually Faye Emerson started a new show while The Faye Emerson Show was still airing. This show was called Faye Emerson's Wonderful Town where Faye would highlight a different city each week with guests. It was still sponsored by Pepsi-Cola. [11]
