FeBREWaryfest is an annual festival held in Canada that celebrates beer, sausages, and community traditions. It was founded in February 1996 in Miramichi, New Brunswick, and has grown into a recurring social event featuring signature dishes, humorous rituals, and a mascot, the One-Eyed Octopus.
History
FeBREWaryfest was created by three college students in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada, in February 1996. The original event consisted of cooking sausages on a small barbecue and drinking beer. The feast was to take place in the second month of the year, when mosquitoes would be frozen. Friedrich followed these instructions, which inspired the festival's founding.
