The Federal Records Officers Network (FRON) is a collaborative network established in 2013 that brings together federal records officers and other records and information management (RIM) professionals from U.S. federal agencies, the military, and support contractors. It provides an in-person and virtual forum for exchanging information, sharing professional experiences and addressing common challenges in federal records management.[1]

The FRON holds monthly meetings, often hosted by a variety of federal agencies in the National Capital Region as well as across the nation, providing an opportunity for remote participation. Meetings address current issues, ongoing initiatives, and practices related to federal records management. Members contribute to the selection and prioritization of discussion topics. The network facilitates the exchange of practices, tools, templates, and approaches to common record management challenges.[1]

Membership

FRON membership[2] is open for agency records officers, records management officers, records custodians, records liaisons, and others interested in advancing the federal records and information management. Areas of interest includes records process automation, digitization, and the management of records in support of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
