The Squid Republic, officially the Federal Squid Republic, or simply FSR, is an intercontinental nation located primarily on the Main Continent. It is currently under the leadership of President Adam Nicolas Koper.
The FSR has no official flag or coat of arms.
History
The Squid Republic was formed sometime in mid-August 2024. In late August of the same year, a traveller whose name is Alloya Marged, settled down at the southern border of the FSR, forming the United German States. The UGS was the FSR's number-one rival nation, as it was rapidly developing technology and securing trade routes with local tribal villages for resources such as wood and iron. After hostilities towards the FSR by the UGS, the Squid Republic began militarizing the border. This resulted in the Squid-German cold war. The UGS constructed a wall as a defensive measure against Squid Republic cannons situated near the border. After a week of this cold war, the Squid Republic prepared for a full land invasion. The UGS noticed this and preemptively surrendered. The peace treaty resulted in full annexation of the UGS by the FSR, with a reasonable amount of autonomy given to the former UGS chancellor, Alloya Marged. Marged applied for citizenship at the FSR, which was accepted personally by the president of the Squid Republic. About 2 weeks after the UGS was assimilated into the Federal Squid Republic, Alloya Marged ran for president. Alloya won the elections and served 2 terms as president. Former President Adam Nicolas Koper, in the beginning of Alloya's term, presumed Alloya Marged was going to secure a position as dictator due to former grudges with the FSR. This resulted in the defection of Adam Nicolas Koper, travelling west to a new land across the Squid Ocean. The Flower Federation was formed. About a week after the formation of the Flower Federation, it was assimilated willingly into the FSR, due to the decision improving the Squid Republic's economy as well as Koper's wellbeing. Adam Koper was made Vice President of the Federal Squid Republic. Flower City, one of three debated modern-day capital locations, was formed by Adam Koper. The first major building to be constructed was the newly-formed Flower Province, which is the former lands of the Flower Federation, capitol building. It was constructed by a small force of builders and Adam Nicolas Koper himself. After this, a storage building was constructed next to it. Then we come to modern day.
Government
The Federal Squid Republic is a liberal democracy with a president as head of state. Elections happen through all citizens voting for President. Legally, since the FSR has a population of five, only 2 people may run for President. The Presidential Candidates may not vote in the elections, due to them likely voting for themselves, resulting in a likely tie. After the President is elected, he/she may choose a Vice President.
Economy/Factories
The Federal Squid Republic has several factories for different resources such as Gold and Iron and also Wood. Most of these factories can be found in the province of Ravinia, which is highly industrialised. Livestock is rare, as the FSR relies on agriculture to supply food to its citizens.
The FSR has no official currency, using a trading/bartering system. The most commonly used currency is Hellforge, which is a resource that the government of the FSR invented, made of gold, oil, and steel, fused together.
Military
The Federal Squid Republic Armed Forces has 2 branches: the Army and the Navy. The Army of the FSR has ~50 soldiers total. The Federal Navy of the Squid Republic has no ships in service, but construction is in progress. The FSR is researching new Gunboat, Destroyer, Cruiser and Aircraft Carrier designs.
The Military has never been deployed, not even as spies in the Squid-German cold war.
The Army has more soldiers than there are people in the FSR; this is because the army is fully made up of trained combat dogs. The Federal Squid Republic has developed "Dog-Armor" to enhance offensive capabilities.
Military Operations
Operation "Bunker Bust" was a military operation conducted by the President and Vice President personally with 6 accompanying military dogs. They went to a Terrorist Bunker, about 230 feet underground (70.1 meters), and placed around 1000 sticks of dynamite inside the walls of the building to avoid detection. It was detonated at 18:34 PM, resulting in the destruction of the entire bunker. This also resulted in the northwest wing of the building completely collapsing in on itself. No terrorists survived the operation. The parts of the bunker that have not collapsed are being used as additional room for industry.
Operation "Pale Liberation" was conducted on December 5th, 2024. The President, accompanied by his Vice President and 12 accompanying soldiers, flew by helicopter to a forest with a prevalent classified geological phenomenon. This phenomenon caused biological Terrorists to appear with no known cause in this forest. A small base camp was constructed in the center of the forest for further study. Research is underway to find out how and when this phenomenon occurs. A large portion of the mission's details are classified. The operation is considered still undergoing due to research.
