Feng Huang Shan (Chinese: 凤凰山) is an illegal gang in Malaysia. The vast majority of the gang members are of Chinese ethnicity. The gang was split from the Ang Meng gang.[citation needed] Its influencing range area include: Johor Bahru (Kempas, Tampoi Johor), Iskandar Puteri (Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Gelang Patah, Taman Universiti, Ulu Choh), Pasir Gudang, Pontian District (Pekan Nanas, Kukup Bay) and Muar.[citation needed]
Incident
Murdering case at Guo Guang School
On 11 November 2018, the 550 gang and Feng Huang Shan gang had a dispute over territory claims. Both gangs later caused a violent riot at Guo Guang School (Chinese: 国光学校) in Skudai, and caused one death and four injuries. The Royal Malaysia Police arrested 14 gang members from the riots and seized weapons that were used in the riot.
Discussion
After the incident broke out, many local residents discussed the incident and the gang's activity at the Taman Ungku Tun Aminah area on the internet. There were also postings circulating on the internet which advise people to reduce their travel or activity frequency at Taman Ungku Tun Aminah.[1]
