MAYOR FERDINAND ESTRELLA

Mayor Ferdinand Estrella emerged victorious as the 27th elected mayor in the first class municipality of Baliwag. Ferdie, as he is fondly called by his constituents, is the first child and only son of former Mayor Romeo Estrella and Mrs. Sonia Estrella. He is known in the league of municipalities as one of the young mayors in Bulacan, assuming the local chief executive post at the age of 36. Though young at heart, Ferdie is considered a veteran in the political arena with an experience spanning 20 years in public service.

He started as Chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan, progressing to Barangay Chairman for three consecutive terms, and simultaneously, the ABC President securing him a legislative seat in the Municipal Board. He also had a chance to serve in the Provincial Board, when he got elected in the league as ABC President- Bulacan Chapter.

Ferdie’s political colors are highly influenced by his alma maters during his elementary and secondary years. An Atenista in grade school, and Lasalista in high school, Ferdie spent his formative and nurturing years in the exclusive schools of Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) and La Salle Greenhills respectively.

He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurial Management from the University of the Asia Pacific, where he honed his natural knack for business. He further obtained few masteral units for Public Management, also from the ADMU.

Though preoccupied with his responsibilities in public service, Ferdie has been successful in managing his time juggling between engagements in government, community service, and his businesses.

In community service, he is an active official of the Junior Chamber International and Knights of Columbus which are both engaged in charitable works, channeling the blessings he obtained to members of the community who need them the most.

Before becoming a mayor, Ferdie was President of Everbest Manpower and General Services, Vice President of Baliwag Rural Bank, General Manager of FVE Security Agency, owner of Hi-FVE Car Exchange, and part-owner of Portico Gardens Grill and Restaurant. He divested all his company shares giving up the rewards of these booming businesses (except for the Baliwag Star Convenience Store, in which he is the sole proprietor) to prevent any conflict now that he is more focused and committed to bringing Baliwag to greater heights as a city.

With less than one year in office, Ferdie was awarded recently as one of the 20 Most Outstanding Mayors of the Philippines alongside seasoned local chief executives of major cities and trailblazing municipalities.

Mayor Ferdie decided to settle down January 2017 and is now happily married with Ma. Jonnah Allysus Nubla-Estrella. He is blessed with two kids, Sofia Alexandra and Franco Miguel.
