Fernando Brodeschi
Fernando Brodeschi, born in Curitiba, Brazil was one of the 12 elected members of the World Scout Committee, the main executive body of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.[1][2][3][4] He was elected to the Committee at the 40th World Scout Conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2014.[2][1]
He was also the Vice-president of the board of the Interamerican Scout Foundation, a Baden-Powell Fellow (World Scout Foundation) and is a member of the Africa and the European Scout Foundations. Before that, he served as a member of the Interamerican Scout Committee from 2007 to 2010 and its 1st Vice Chairman from 2010 until 2013.[2] He was the youngest person to be elected to this Committee, at the age of 27.[2]
Brodeschi was born to a Brazilian mother and a Romanian Jewish father.[5] He is the Vice President for Latin America at the International Forum of Jewish Scouts (IFJS). Currently Brodeschi promotes cultural exchange between Jewish Scouts around the world through IFJS, and, together with Scout Group Avanhandava in São Paulo, he is working to expand Jewish scouting in Brazil.
Brodeschi started in his local Scout group in 1987 and is a member of the União dos Escoteiros do Brasil and he held different positions in Scouting in Brazil, in Mexico and in the Interamerican Region.[2][6]
Brodeschi attended the last six World Scout Conferences (Azerbaijan, Slovenia, Brazil, Korea, Tunisia and Greece), the last five Interamerican Scout Conferences (USA, Argentina, Panama, Ecuador and El Salvador), two Interamerican Scout Summits (Panama and Colombia), one Asia-Pacific Scout Conference (Malaysia) and one Africa Scout Conference (Uganda).
Brodeschi attended three World Scout Jamborees (UK, Chile and Holland), three Interamerican Scout Jamborees (Colombia, Brazil and Guatemala) and one Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree (Philippines).
His service to Scouting was recognized through awards from Brazil, Mexico, South Korea and Malaysia.
Has a degree in Civil Engineering (Universidade Federal do Parana), Graduate studies in Management and Strategic Planning (FAE Parana) and Master in Business Administration (IPADE Business School / Asian Institute of Management).
