Fin Jopson is a British dressage rider & horse trainer based in the Netherlands, also known as Sport Horseman. Fin trains sport horses and produces young horses. Fin trains horses using an innovative blend of classical & behavioural techniques, producing young horses with strong basic fundamentals. Fin Jopson competes at medium tour level & delivers training demonstrations and shows at equestrian events in both the Netherlands & UK.

Fin is known for getting horses "bomb-proof" through trust and respect. Fin Jopson starts with groundwork, teaching a horse how to relax naturally, both mentally and physically. Using various exercises, he creates a more independent horse who learns to focus on the rider, no matter what the situation is.

Fin States: 'A horse survives unexpected events using its natural flight instincts – designed for survival in the wild – not show arenas. I help the horses I train deal with the demands of the world we have created. The horses learn to offer the correct response and become more confident, to perform in a top sport environment. I show my clients how to maintain sympathetic control of the horse through groundwork.'

Fin Is a successful dressage rider and has competed several horses up to medium tour level, Fin Jopson also competes young horses. Fin Jopson trains top sport horses in the Netherlands.

Fin is a former member of the British Young Riders Dressage Scheme, Fin developed several horses through the levels, participated in the British Dressage Young Professionals Award, and obtained his British Dressage Rider/Apprenticeship qualification.

Fin Jopson has ridden with Gauchos in Patagonia, neck-reined in North America and trained stallions in Andalusia. Fin believes horsemanship can contribute to all equestrian disciplines, and constantly seeks to innovate in top sport equestrian training. He has developed a quick and effective system of groundwork & ridden training for sport horses based on trust & respect.

Fin Jopson started his career as a working pupil with Emile Faurie, who has represented Great Britain at 2 Olympic Games, 3 World Equestrian Games and 4 European Championships

Peter Storr

Fin Jopson worked as rider for British Junior & Pony team trainer, former Olympic team member and FEI judge Peter Storr. Fin achieved his British Dressage Rider Apprenticeship qualification while working for Peter

Tristan Tucker

Fin Jopson worked as rider & horse trainer/breaker for renowned Australian horsemanship expert Tristan Tucker, producing young horses for top riders & running high-profile clinics in Europe

Bert Rutten

From 2014 to 2016 Fin Jopson worked as rider & horse trainer with Bert Rutten – former chef d'equipe to the Dutch National Dressage Team, two time Olympian and master of the dressage Grand Prix
