Financial-Legal College (FLC) is a higher educational institution, accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It enrolls secondary-school and high-school graduates and renders the educational services in the sphere of higher education on training of junior specialists and bachelors in the field of knowledge "Finance, bank system and credit" and "Law" for full-time and part-time study.[1]

The Financial-Legal College was founded as the educational institution of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in October 14, 1994.[2] It was headed by Mikhail Omelchenko, a Ph.D., a lecturer in the Department of Justice of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

In 1995, The Main Department of Accreditation of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine confirmed the right to carry out the educational activities of the College in the direction (specialty) of training in the field of Law (license number - 150 persons, full-time and part-time studies). [3]

In 2001, the Financial-Legal College was headed by Ivan Gritsenko, a Ph.D. in History, a lecturer of state theory and history at the faculty of law in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv [4], the author of more than 100 scientific works. That year The Financial-Legal College had also obtained the License of the Ministry of Education and Science for the junior specialist's training in the field of Banking.

In 2003 by the decision of The State Accreditation Commission the Financial-Legal College was accredited for junior specialist's training in the field of Economy and Entrepreneurship (Finance) and received the License of the Main Department of Education and Science. [5]

In 2004 the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, the Financial-Legal College and the Financial-Legal Lyceum were cooperated in order to coordination of educational and methodological activities and introduction of step-by-step system training of specialists in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine and Educational Laws of Ukraine. Subject of the Agreement had concluded the following statements:

  • cooperation between the members in the legislation implementation in educational system and coordination of members' activities;
  • implementation of the continuous training system for specialists;
  • active using of scientific and pedagogical staff, training laboratory and production base, social infrastructure;
  • development of teaching and methodological support. [6]

In 2009, the Financial-Legal College received the Accreditation of all specialties at educational and qualification levels for a bachelor's and junior specialist's training and the License of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

In 2012, the Financial-Legal College of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was reorganized into the Private Higher Educational Institution "Financial-Legal College" and become successor to all the rights and duties of the University, according to the College Statute. [7] Since September 2012, the Finance and Law College has been heading by Tamara Gubanova, a Ph.D in Law.

In 2014, College received the Accreditation for bachelor's and junior specialist's training in the fields of Law and Finance and Credit. In addition, College received the license for junior specialist's training in the field of Law. [8]

In 2016, College had produced the first graduation of junior specialist's in the field of Law and received the Accreditation for the students training for bachelor's degree in the field of Finance, bank system and credit for a period of 10 years and the license for the bachelor's training in Law. [9]

In 2017, College received the license to train students for bachelor's degree in the field of Finance, bank system and credit [10]

In 2018, College received the Accreditation for the students training for bachelor's degree in the field of Law for a period of 10 years. [11]

The College enrolls secondary-school and high-school graduates and renders the educational services in the sphere of higher education on training of junior specialists and bachelors in the field of knowledge "Finance, bank system and credit" and "Law" for full-time and part-time study.[12]

Graduates[edit]

By 2018, the number of students studying at the Private Higher Educational Institution "Financial-Legal College" is over 900. In general, the College has issued more than 5,000 highly qualified specialists. Among them there are leading specialists in public administration and financial institutions, scholars, lawyers, prosecutors, investigators, successful employees and managers in industrial and agrarian associations, bankers and entrepreneurs.[14]

Graduates of the College could continue their studying by obtaining the Master's degree in either law or economics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, in accordance with the current rules of Admission Committee of the The Financial-Legal College. [15]

The Financial-Legal College traditionally combines effective instrumentality of vocational education with fundamental and applied research aimed at creating the most favorable conditions for improving the quality of educational services. [16] The College successfully operates with the Scientific Student Club, Art Studio, sport clubs.

Educational process at the institution is provided with 6 departments.

There are also a library, a medical room, a psychologist's office, a dining room, computer classes, a sports ground.
