Finex Credit Union is a credit union, a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution owned by the members. The purpose of the credit union is to use its income to provide affordable, quality products and services to members. This credit union based in East Hartford, CT is serving over 10,000 members primarily in Hartford and Tolland counties. It is headquartered in New England that operates a micro branch network of interactive teller machines(ITM).[3] or video tellers that replaces the traditional teller cash operation. Mortgage Markets CUSO is a wholly owned mortgage subsidiary of this credit union and was founded in 2003 and headquartered in New England. Finex is regulated by the Connecticut Department of Banking and the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). There are 3 full-service branches[4] in Connecticut, 5,000 COOP shared branch centers, and 55,000 ATMs via the Allpoint network with members across the U.S.

Finex CU (formerly known as First New England FCU) was chartered in 1938 for employees of the East Hartford schools and area towns. On June 30, 2015, First New England credit union was converted from a federal to state credit union[5] with the new name Finex credit union[6]

Membership and Organization[edit]

Finex credit union’s  field of membership is open to existing family members, their extended families, residents of Hartford or Tolland counties, and several other organizations in the area.

This not for profit organization is governed by its Board of Directors. They are elected by the members, each serving a three-year term. These volunteers direct the credit union, meeting regularly to discuss what’s in the best interest of Finex and the members.

The major services include checking accounts, EMV debit cards, mortgages and home equity lines of credit, auto loans, and savings accounts. The Finex mobile app [7] [8] include remote deposit capture, PayPal integration, biometric log on, and credit trends custom app.
