Fiona Compton (born October 6, 1981) is a London-based Saint Lucian photographer artist, public speaker, filmmaker, and historian.[1][2][3][4][5]

Early life and education

Compton was born at the Victoria Hospital to parents John Compton[6] and Janice Barbara Compton. She is the couple's fourth daughter. She attended the San Souci Primary School and then the Saint Joseph's Convent. She studied in Venezuela for a year and then moved to the United Kingdom where she studied at Central Saint Martin doing an Art and Design Foundation. She then got her degree at London College of Communication in Photography.[citation needed]

Career

Fiona has been working as a professional photographer with the UK's largest publishing houses, travelling across Europe to photograph some of the most influential figures in the world of Finance and Banking.[7]

Much of her work surrounds self-empowerment, identity, and challenging representation, which has led her work to be part of several public speaking engagements, both locally and internationally.[8]

She is an ambassador for Notting Hill Carnival in London,[9][1][2][10] the second largest street festival in the world.

Personal life

She is the daughter of John Compton.[1] She is also the Goddaughter of King Charles III.[2][11][12] Her oldest sister Jeannine Compton-Antoine is a politician. In a by-election held on 26 November 2007, she won John Compton's constituency of Micoud North.[citation needed] Her youngest sister Nina Compton, is a chef and television star. In 2013, she participated in season 11 of the American reality cooking show Top Chef, where she was the runner-up and was voted the "fan favorite".[13]
