Fiona Skinner is an English actress best known for playing DS Abney in Coronation Street; a detective sergeant who leads the questioning after Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) assaults her husband, Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew).[1]
Along with Coronation Street, Fiona has starred in some of the nation's favourite tv programmes, 'Endeavour'[2], 'Call the Midwife' & 'Our Girl'[3] to name a few. She made her film debut in Julian Jarrold's 'A Royal Night Out'.[4]
She also played 'Brighton' in Tom Hardy's Taboo.[5]
On stage she received rave-reviews for her performance in the world-premiere of Joy Wilkinson's The Sweet Science of Bruising[6], played Jean in the Number One UK Tour of The Full Monty and also appeared in the world-premiere of Timberlake Wertenbaker's Our Ajax & the European Premiere of The Dark Room at Theatre 503.
She was nominated for the 2009 Spotlight Prize.[7]
