The Fire Cross (Tűzkereszt) was a Hungarian award instituted on 24 November 1941 by Regent Miklós Horthy. The cross was awarded to Hungarian military personnel who had provided front-line combat service during World War II for a minimum of 3 months' front line service. This medal ribbon features red and green stripes on a white trifold ribbon.

The award is a 36mm bronze cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms, with loop for ribbon suspension; the obverse is a circular central medallion inscribed ‘A HAZÁÉRT’ (For the Homeland) within a laurel wreath denoting an award for front-line combatant service, the lower arm dated ‘1941’; ‘1942’ or ‘1943’.

The order consists of three classes, as well as an associated medal in two classes:

  • Fire Cross 1st class with wreath and swords
  • Fire Cross 1st class with wreath and swords (posthumus)
  • Fire Cross 1st class with wreath
  • Fire Cross 1st class
