Fireblocks
Fireblocks is a financial technology company that provides digital asset infrastructure to businesses to custody and issue stablecoins and other digital assets. It is headquartered in New York City.[1]
History
Fireblocks was founded in 2018 by Michael Shaulov, Idan Ofrat, and Pavel Berengoltz to address security vulnerabilities in digital asset storage, specifically private key theft.[2][3]
In June 2019, Fireblocks launched its platform and announced a US$16 million Series A funding round led by Cyberstarts, Tenaya Capital, and Eight Roads.[4] In late 2020, Fireblock received a funding of US$30 million in Series B round.[5]
In March 2021, Fireblocks raised US$133 million in Series C funding round.[6] In July 2021, Fireblocks raised US$310 million in a Series D round co-led by Sequoia Capital.[7][8][9] In January 2022, Fireblocks secured US$550 million in Series E financing, with a valuation of US$8 billion.[10][11][12] In April 2022, Fireblocks and FIS formed a joint initiative to expand its platform to institutional crypto investors.[13]
In early 2022, Fireblocks acquired the Israeli stablecoin payment platform First Digital for US$100 million.[14][11] In 2023, it acquired BlockFold, a smart contract and tokenization firm.[15][16] In 2025, Fireblocks acquired the U.S.-based wallet platform Dynamic for US$90 million.[17] In 2026, Fireblocks acquired TRES Finance for US$130 million.[18][19]
Operations
Fireblocks provides infrastructure for the secure storage, transfer, and issuance of digital assets.[2][20] It operates the Fireblocks Network, which allows for the settlement of digital assets between exchanges and counterparties without exposing private keys.[2][21]
Fireblocks operates on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, charging recurring subscription fees based on usage and assets under management. In 2025, it launched its own stablecoin payments network.[22]
