Flag of Chitral (Princely State)
The Princely state flag of Chitral was triangular in shape and pale green in colour. The wider side of the pennant depicted a mountain, most likely the Terich Mir peak. In the later Katoor period, this flag served as a symbol of the Mehtar's presence and flew above the Chitral fort respectively. Sir Shuja ul-Mulk ascended as Mehtar of Chitral, marking recognition by the British Raj and the formal establishment of Chitral as a princely state commenced on the 2nd of March in 1895 under British suzerainty; By the 6th of November in 1947 he formally excuted the Instrument of Accession to the Dominion of Pakistan respectively. However President Yahya Khan announced the full integration of Chitral (along with Dir and Swat) into the then West Pakistan state, thereby abolishing the princely state's seperate status on the 28th of July in 1969, and into the Pakistani Union.
Chitrali ethnicity

The Red stands for the reddish soil of the region, the valor and courage of the people, Saffron that grows here and blood spilt by martyrs of the past. White on the other hand stands for peace, prosperity, love of the fellow being and unity. Green stands for abundance, natural verdure and humility. The Pine tree (Pinus gerardiana) is symbolic of the wealth of endemic flora and fauna and denote the connection to nature. The rounded hill is symbolic of the hilly geography as well as the striving to reach the pinnacle.
