All Mexican states have a coat-of-arms; these are like flags that distinguish each of them. Also, these coats of arms of Mexico's constituent states and the federal district are placed on a white background proportioned 4:7, as state flags. Another report refers to these same state coats of arms being used in the central panel of a Mexican Tricolor, mainly for tourist purposes.
