Flag of Osaka Prefecture
The original color scheme (1968 - 1984)

The Osaka prefecture flag (Osaka Fuki) is the flag of Osaka prefecture, which is one of the prefectures of Japan. In this section, we will also explain the Osaka prefecture emblem shown on the flag.

Overview

Osaka Prefecture Chapter

It was established on 1968 (Showa) June 21 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the implementation of the Osaka Prefectural Government. The "O" of the alphabet is designed based on the Sennari Byotan, known as Main of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and the branched "O" represents "hope", "prosperity" and "harmony" respectively.[1]. At the time of its establishment, the base color of the flag was green, but from 1984 (Showa 59) April 1 Blue ( Mancell 7.5PB 3/12 color) was changed to [2]

The prefectural flag and prefectural seal have the same design.

Substitute flags before the establishment of the prefectural flag

Before the current prefectural flag was established, the flag designed with the symbol mark of Osaka Sports Association established in 1949 (Showa 24) was substituted for events such as National Sports Festival.[3]. The red course, which represents the energy of Osaka, an industrial city, on a white background that represents purity, is written vertically in the center of the truck surrounded by blue, which expresses the youth, sincerity and hope of the city of water [3]
