Proportion4:7

All Mexican states have a coat-of-arms; these are like flags which distinguish each of them. Also these coat of arms of Mexico's constituent states and the federal district are place on a white background proportioned 4:7. as state flags, another report refers that these very same state coats of arms are used in the central panel of a Mexican Tricolor, mainly for tourist purposes.

The flag of the state of Tamaulipas is a white background on the current state of the shield and is regarded as the first flag of Tamaulipas state despite its simplicity. The flag was officially adopted on December 16, 2004 during the ceremony of 39th anniversary of the creation of this entity.
