Flipaclip is a 2D Animation software used primarily by mobile and desktop users. Drawing on the app is typically done with an Apple Pencil or a finger. It can have up to 3 layers, but can have 10 layers if you have Flipaclip Premium. [2]
Tools
Flipaclip has five main tools: The Pencil, The Eraser, The Lasso, The Paint, and the Text. The Pencil tool is the main tool, allowing you to draw from 1 px to 150 px. It also allows you to change color anytime you like, and adjust the opacity, which permits you to lower or raise the visibility. The second tool is the Eraser, which allows you to erase things, but unlike the pencil tool, you can also change the outside edges. The third tool is Lasso, which allows you to encircle what you've drawn and either remove it, change the size, or rotate it. The fourth tool is Paint; you can change the color along with adding Presets, which are basically a series of colors packed into one. The fifth and final tool is the Text tool, which allows you to make text and either increase or decrease the size.

History
In 2012, a 26-year-old named Tim Meson, an engineer who worked at Oracle, agreed to launch a free animation app with Marcos Meson and Jeremiah Meccage. Back then, it was only designed for Android[3]
| Latest Updates | Release Date | Size | Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2.5.8 | February 24, 2022 | 36 MB | Android 5.0 |
| 3.0.1 | March 25, 2022[4] | 78 MB | Android 5.0 |
FPS
The average FPS for Flipaclip is 12, but it can increase to 30. However, you need to draw 30 pages for 1 second. If you choose the higher option, it will look smoother and less crooked.[5]
Contests
On August 11, 2018, Flipaclip uploaded the "FlipaClip Splash Contest Mashup" on YouTube. It was one of many MAPS/Contests that the channel uploaded. What happened was 15 various animators would be picked by them and they would animate the Flipaclip logo in one way or another. One example of this was "Draw, Animate, Share". Later, on December 5, 2020, they uploaded "Draw A Smile". The idea of this contest was to make a 15-30 second animation on what or who you love. There were 3 medals that decided how good your animation was: Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The top one would get the most rewards, while the Bronze got simple things like stickers or pins. Later, in May 28, 2021, Flipaclip made yet another contest called "The Animatics". Unlike the other two, this one was made into multiples. The first one was made on May 28, the Second one on July 16, the Third one on September 4, and the last one on January 7 of the next year.
Premium and More
Flipaclip Premium costs $4.99, but the individual bundles are much cheaper. The Bundles involve: no advertisements, saving animations as PNG images, removing the Flipaclip watermark in movies, creating canvas sizes up to 1920x1920, modifying the size and opacity of the grid, adding your own audio from mp3 to wav, getting unlimited exported length imports, adding up to 10 layers, customizing the onion settings including colors, and finally, saving all your projects into a single file.[6]
Dubs
People who are known for their work on the software are called "Flipaclip Masters". Most of them use Gacha characters or fursonas.
