Florian Tarpinian (born 3 September 1994) better known by his stage name Flo Chase, is a French born singer-songwriter, musician and model from Australia who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

[1]

Early Life[edit]

Flo Chase grew up on a French island in the Pacific named “New-Caledonia” where his parents first put him into piano lessons at the age of 7. [2]At the age of 10 he picked up the guitar, but it was really at the age of 12 when he and his family migrated to Australia that he fully immersed himself in music. [3] Not speaking a word of English at the time, music became not only a place of comfort but also a way for him to communicate with his new surroundings. [2] From that point then he was all in and decided to take up vocal coaching and started writing his own songs. [2]After graduating from high school in Australia and being halfway through a bachelor’s degree of Clinical Exercise Science, he decided to pack his bags, move to Sydney, and enroll at the JMC Academy of Music where he undertook a Bachelor of Contemporary Music Performance. [2]

On August 8th 2017, Flo Chase released his debut single "Lonely River" from his debut EP 'Le Debut'. The music video for 'Lonely River' accumulated over two hundred and fifty thousand views in a few short weeks after its release. [4]

On August 18th 2017, he release his debut EP 'Le Debut'. It was recorded in Sydney Australia and produced by ARIA winning record producer 'Wayne Conolly'. When developing 'Le Debut' he was inspired by living in the heart of the city, and generally worked between the hours of midnight and five.

[5]

2018: Kiss You Goodbye[edit]

On August 28th 2018, Flo Chase released "Kiss You Goodbye". The single was co-produced by Wayne Conolly at Hercules Street Studios in Sydney, Australia.

[6]

2019: Spinning Wheel & Lost in her Beauty[edit]

On August 23rd 2019, Flo Chase released "Spinning Wheel". Co-produced by Houston Fry and GRAMMY award winning mixing engineer Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer), 'Spinning Wheel' reflects upon a distance relationship and the will to do whatever it takes in order to spend more time with the one you love. On September 19th 2019, he released a second single called 'Lost in her Beauty'.

[7]

2021: Toi[edit]

On January 23rd 2021, Flo Chase released "More of You" the first single from his upcoming debut full length album titled 'Toi'. Although the song encapsulates a simple plea for companionship, Chase brings a necessary tenderness and larger relatability to the track, adding a layer of depth to his message. He matches that attitude of carefree and transparent longing in his music video where he is seen cruising down the streets of San Francisco on a bicycle, leisurely musing as he rides in his ’80s inspired getup.

[8]

On February 11th 2021, Flo Chase released the second single from 'Toi' titled "Everywhere with me". Against an ethereal piano, Chase sings about how he feels “so far but yet so close” to his loved ones, delivering these proclamations in a smokey whisper that beams as bright as the springtime sun.

[4]

On February 26th 2021, he released 'Lies', the third single from his upcoming debut full length album 'Toi'. Directed by Jacob Luevano, the official music video for “Lies” was filmed between Laguna Beach and Los Angeles Arts District and features several guest dancers, including Artyon and Arthur Celestine (America’s Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Little Big Shots) and Japanese dance duo Hilty and Bosch. Working with director Jacob Luevano, he strove to create a unique and fun experience for viewers but also showcase the multicultural power and picturesque image that can be found through dance and music in general.

[9]

On March 12th 2021, Flo Chase released his debut full length album 'Toi'. He co-produced the entire record with his great friend record producer Houston Fry at Barking Owl Sound in Los Angeles, California. His older brother Theo also played a large part assisting with production and offering creative feedback on each track. Toi was mixed by Kolton Lee (Kaleo, Foy Vance, Shania Twain, Niall Horan) and was mastered by GRAMMY Award winner Joe Laporta (Shawn Mendes, David Bowie, Foo Fighters, The Weeknd). The experience of moving away from home and missing his loved ones has been a major source of inspiration in this record.

[2]

On march 28th 2021, Flo Chase released ‘NEVER CAME BACK (The Remix)’ featuring LA rapper Jodie Jo’. The re-imagined version of his track ‘Never Came Back” explores the idea of moving on after giving all to someone who is unable to return the same level of dedication.[10]

Flo Chase started modeling in high school when getting scouted by a local agent while surfing with some friends. Throughout his modeling and music career he has been featured in campaigns for Nike, Coca-Cola, Samsung, Vogue, Hermes, Lipton, Telstra, etc. [11]
