Flo Technologies, Inc. is a smart home technology company founded by a father-son duo, Gabriel Halimi and Henry Halimi, that develops water monitoring and control systems based in Los Angeles, California.[1][2][3]

Overview

Gabriel is an attorney by trade, and his father was a plumbing expert and manufacturer.[2] Its product, Flo, was released in February 2018 at $499 after receiving a patent for a Fluid Monitoring and Control System in January 2018.[4][5][6] The same year, they entered into a partnership with Water Intelligence PLC through American Leak Detection for distribution, installation, and repairs.[5][6][7]

Technology

Flo monitors, controls, and reports vulnerabilities in the water system and helps prevent damage.[4][8] It monitors pressure, flow rate, and temperature using sensors and is installed at the water source.[4][9] It also provides historical data regarding water usage, detects small leaks, and sends notifications via email, app, text, or phone call.[4][9] The technology is capable of shutting off the water supply without user input, identifying micro leaks, running toilets, leaks behind walls, and underneath the flooring.[4][9][10][11]

Funding

In April 2016, they raised $3.5 million, followed by another round of funding amounting to $7.8 million in November 2017, with Crosslink Capital as the lead investor. [3][2][12]
