Pratt Whitney Road is a 23.3-mile-long (37.5 km) road in both Palm Beach and Martin counties. It has a gap between Northlake Boulevard (SR 850) and Beeline Highway (SR 710), although it continues 3 miles north of SR 850 because of the right of way. There is construction occurring to connect the gap. Formerly a county road, it started out as a state road in 1983, from SR 710 to SR 76 (Kanner Highway). It was transferred to county control in May 2018 before being commissioned again in April 2020. At that time, Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, a road south near Loxahatchee, was also commissioned into SR 711. Despite being a state route, there is still leftover signage of CR 711 in both counties.

Route Description

Southern Section

So SR 711 starts at an intersection between US 98, US 441, and SR 80 (all in concurrency with each other as Southern Boulevard) with Seminole Pratt Whitney Road near the Loxahatchee Groves-Wellington line. Near the area, which is covered by farms, rural communities, and small trails, are many unincorporated areas. About 1.5 miles later, the non-designated extension of SR 704 (Okeechobee Boulevard) intersects with SR 711. This is the western terminus of what remains of SR 704. It eventually enters Westlake, where there are no major intersections or junctions. It enters first The Acreage, and then Loxahatchee. Before its last intersection of the southern section, it passes through small houses, rural areas, and forests. Then it intersects SR 850 (Northlake Boulevard).

Gap

There is a gap of an undisclosed distance. It is carried by SR 850 and SR 710. There is construction in the gap to connect it.

Northern Section

Near Gwinn, Apix, and Palm Beach Gardens, the northern section of SR 711, also known as Pratt Whitney Road, begins at an intersection between SR 710 and SR 711. It goes on for about 2 miles before intersecting SR 706 (West Indiantown Road) in the northwest corner of Jupiter Farms, locally known simply as "The Farms". After SR 706, there are no major intersections for 8.5 miles. It crosses into Martin County, and then is the site of Pratt Whitney Farm. 8.4 miles from SR 706, SR 711 intersects CR 708. It gives access to I-95. 3.8 miles later, it reaches its northwestern terminus at SR 76 in Arundel, an unincorporated community near Palm City. The right of way continues as CR 76A, and is renamed to Arundel Street before finally ending at CR 726, though CR 76A takes the designation of CR 726 north of the intersection.
