Fluency is an Australian software company that develops AI-powered tools for process documentation and workflow automation. Founded in 2023 and based in Melbourne, Fluency provides an enterprise platform that captures real-time workflows and automatically generates standard operating procedures (SOPs). It is used in sectors such as financial services, manufacturing, and professional services.
History
Fluency was founded by Finnlay Morcombe and Oliver Farnill, both self-taught developers and students at RMIT University and Swinburne University of Technology. The idea for the product emerged during Morcombe’s internship at a superannuation fund, where he identified inefficiencies in transferring process knowledge between teams.[1]
The company was accepted into Swinburne's accelerator program in 2023 and began selling early versions of the platform while still in development.
Product
The Fluency platform allows users to record processes across enterprise applications in real time. It automatically generates editable, shareable SOPs that include step-by-step instructions and contextual reasoning. The system is designed to reduce documentation time, improve compliance, and centralize organizational knowledge.
Key features include:
- One-click recording
- Instant SOP generation
- Business logic capture
- Centralized knowledge base
Clients
Fluency’s platform is used by organizations in Australia, Singapore, and Japan. Notable clients include:
- AON
- Specsavers
- BoardRoom
- MISUMI
- Prime Financial
As of 2025, the company manages over 2,000 documented enterprise workflows.[2]
Funding
In April 2025, Fluency raised A$1.5 million in an oversubscribed pre-seed round led by Bradley Tabone (co-founder of HammerTech) and Archangel Ventures, with additional participation from 1MX.ai and Orvel Ventures.[3] The company stated the funds would be used to expand its engineering team and enhance its AI functionality.
