In Peru, football is the most popular sport. In the 21st century, some of these matches are characterized by violence among hooligans.

The Peruvian Clásico (Clásico Peruano) or the Classic of the Classics of Peruvian Football (Clásico de los Clásicos del Fútbol Peruano) is the name given to Peru's biggest football local derby between Alianza Lima and Universitario. The rivalry between these two clubs started in their first game on 23 September 1928 when the two first faced off in a violent game. Both clubs come from the capital city, Lima.[1]

Cristal vs. Universitario

The Universitario–Sporting Cristal rivalry is a major rivalry in Peruvian football. Both clubs are those who got more titles since they began to dispute the Torneo Decentralizado from 1966, this succession of titles made a great rivalry exist between both clubs.[2]

The derby between Alianza and Cristal hasn't got a particular name. Is contested between Alianza Lima and Sporting Cristal, both of Lima. It is one of the most important football rivalries Peru, the first meeting between the two was held on August 5, 1956, at the Estadio Nacional when Alianza Lima won 2-1 to Sporting Cristal with a brace from Guillermo Barbadillo for the Aliancistas and Carlos Zunino discount for Celestes.

Callao derby

The most important derby in Callao it is the meeting that dispute Sport Boys and Atlético Chalaco. This duel is also known as the "Derby Porteño" or "Derby Chalaco". The first official match was played on June 6, 1937, by the Torneo Amateur (ANA).
