The Footscray Rugby Club was formed in 1928 which makes it one of the oldest rugby clubs south of the NSW border. The Club has produced 5 Australian national team players part of the Wallabies side and has men’s, juniors and women’s teams
The club plays in the Premier Division of the Victorian Rugby Union. The Dewar Shield is the premier Victorian rugby competition, fought out between nine teams who represent 125 years of rugby in Victoria.
