For We Are Many, alternatively titled 13 Tales Of Terror, is a 2019 anthology horror film which was conceived by director and producer Lawrie Brewster of Hex Studios, stemming from the desire to seek out and showcase exciting new talent in the horror genre.[1]
For We Are Many takes some inspiration from other anthology horror classics—in particular, by those of Amicus Productions.[2]
The Anthology has a variety of actors—even some horror icons. These include Eileen Dietz from the classic horror The Exorcist and Nicholas Vince from the chilling Hellraiser and Nightbreed, as well as Laurence R. Harvey from The Human Centipede II.[3]
Synopsis[edit]
The film is made up of thirteen individual segments, plus an introduction and wraparound. The segments come from a variety of different directors - each with the assignment to create original chilling tales about demons. Some directors have created more than one segment in this anthology horror film.
Production[edit]
Some of the creatures were inspired by Paganism, others by Lovecraftian horror. On July 16, 2019, Hex Studios also launched a Kickstarter campaign to help raise the final funds in order to complete the film. On July 23, 2019, they successfully reached their goal.[4]
Content[edit]
The film begins by showing a red screen with text explaining that the filmmakers from around the world were asked to create tales inspired by demons. The introduction comprises medieval soldiers abandoning their king, while searching the rocky Scottish plains. The king himself is confronted by a pale-faced, black-cloaked figure, who appears to be Death.
