Formula One drivers form Chile
There has only been one Formula One (F1) driver from Chile.[1]
Former F1 drivers[edit]
The first Chilean F1 driver was in the form of Eliseo Salazar.[1] Salazar competed in three seasons from 1981 to 1983.[2] He made his debut in the 1981 San Marino Grand Prix, at his debut he retired after 38 laps with his last entry at the 1983 United States Grand Prix West.[3][4] He had a highest race finish of fifth and his highest qualifying position was twelve.[5] Over three years he scored 3 points with his best F1 world drivers championship standing was 21st.[5]
