History
Four Js Development Tools was founded in 1992 [2] by Jean-Georges Schwartz, who is currently CEO [3]. Its first product was an application generator. This product became Business Development Suite, which was based on IBM Informix-4GL and provided support for the MS-Windows Server and Graphical User Interface.
In May 1998, Informix signed an OEM agreement with Four J’s to market the product under the Informix Dynamic-4GL (D-4GL) moniker. This agreement was renewed by IBM when they purchased Informix on 1st July 2001.
In October 2003, Four J’s released Genero, a re-architected version of Business Development Suite using XML as its user interface foundation. In February 2011, IBM renewed its agreement with Four Js to create IBM Informix Genero. In June 2015, IBM transferred the installed base of its IBM Informix Genero licenses to Four Js[4] [5]
