Fourou (insect)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Fourou is an insect smaller than 1 mm that are endemic in in Gabon and neighbouring countries[1] [2]. They consume blood, and leave an itchy red spot [3]. They are active daily approximately from 17h to 18:30 (as the night falls).

Tiny, less than they land on the skin discovered and sting to gorge themselves with blood. The itching appears almost immediately and leaves red spots on the skin. These insects disappear very quickly, with the night falling. If they appear around 17h, they disappear very quickly after 18:30. They can fly through mosquito nets and are unaffected by anti-mosquito sprays.[1]
