Foxo is an upcoming multiplayer social simulation video game developed and published by the Swedish indie studio Elscar Games AB. Development
The game is being developed by Elscar Games AB, an indie studio founded in Gothenburg, Sweden, in December 2023 by artist Oscar Rickett and programmer Elin Hage.[1] Elscar Games is self-publishing the title and promoting it through Sweden Game Arena initiatives. The Steam page for Foxo went live in mid-2025 for wishlisting.[1] Development has also included small-scale private playtests with community members.[1]
Release
As of September 2025, no official release date has been announced. The game is expected to launch in early access on Steam for Microsoft Windows.[1]
Reception
Foxo was featured in the Massively Overpowered column "MMOs You've Never Heard Of," which spotlighted lesser-known online titles. The article highlighted the game’s emphasis on small-scale, cozy multiplayer over the large persistent worlds of traditional MMOs.[3]
