Frank Bach (born May 25, 1987) is a Canadian product designer, speaker and entrepreneur residing in Los Angeles, California.[1] He has worked on projects such as Headspace and Red Bull TV.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
Bach was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario.[citation needed] As a teenager, he was involved in the local music scene, performing, organizing shows, creating zines, and designing artwork for local bands.[3][4]
He graduated from Cambrian College (graphic design), Laurentian University (communication studies), and later the Savannah College of Art and Design (graphic design).[citation needed]
Career[edit]
He began his career as a graphic designer, operating an independent agency, Bureau, in northern Ontario, creating for clients like Science North, the Art Gallery of Sudbury, the Downtown Sudbury BIA,[5] and many Franco-Ontarian cultural organizations. He was the founding designer of the Manitoulin Brewing Company.[6]
In 2015, he relocated to Los Angeles.[7] to work with Edenspiekermann,[8] He regularly speaks at conferences around the world on topics like product design, mindfulness, creativity, and innovation.[9]
He has been featured on CBC,[10] Radio-Canada,[11] Minds of Design,[12] Interface Lovers,[13] Brit + Co,[14] and The Sudbury Star.[15]
Community[edit]
He received a NOMFA in 2009[16] and a Community Builders Award from the United Way of Canada in 2015.[17]
Bach was a board member for the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation,[18] the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD), as well as a founding member of the Sudbury Design Society. He served as President for two terms.[19]
