The Prince Francesco Natoli Moncada Orioles Alifia e Luna, was the eldest son of Prince Giovanni Natoli, and the II Prince of Sperlinga.
Biography
The Prince S.A.S. Francesco Natoli of Sperlinga, was the only son of Prince Giovanni Forti Natoli.
His descendant Francesco Alifia Ruffo married Caterina Ruffo di Calabria Scaletta Rocca, daughter of the prince of Scaletta, was invested in May 24, 1741, and declared by King Charles III of Bourbon, first Duke of Archirafi[1] He built in 1762 the tower Archirafi, in the place where formerly stood a very old and famous defensive embattled tower, which was destroyed by a tsunami, appears around 1853.[2]
Prince Francesco was a virtuous man detached from material goods and sold the lands and the castle of Sperlinga in 1656 to Giovanni Stefano Oneto, keeping, however, the title of Prince for him and his descendants.[3]
It was just intuition and controls of Prince Francesco Natoli, to save the city of Messina from the European plague of 1720, driving out, against the orders of the military captaincy, the ship that spread the virus in all the French Provence and in the city of Marseille, he was also the commander of the military urban troops of Messina, in 1734, with numerous public honors and awards,[4] in 1738, he became Royal advisor member of the Trade Board of Messina.[5]
Among his daughters there was Donna Marianna Natoli, daughter of Don Francesco Prince of Sperlinga of Manganelli and Donna Caterina Ruffo of the Prince della Scaletta, that became the wife of Don Calogero (* 1706 ca. + ca. 1739/1745), 4° Prince of della Scaletta, 3rd Prince of della Floresta, 4th Baron of Guidomantri, Lord of Nicosia, Granatello, Giampilieri, Molino and Artalia, Noble "Patrizio" of Messina from 1739.
