Francis Alan Gunther (July 2, 1918 – September 14, 1985) was a scientist known for his advancements in the fields of pesticide residue chemistry and environmental preservation.[1] A faculty professor at the University of California, Riverside, he also served on several advisory committees to the Food and Drug Administration, the National Science Foundation, The National Research Council, and the Ford Foundation. Francis authored and co-authored 269 publications and started the industry journal "Residue Reviews" which was edited by his wife, Jane Davies Gunther.
