Francisco Huera-Huarte
Francisco Huera-Huarte (born July 4, 1976) is a Spanish engineer and professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of University of Rovira i Virgili.[1]
Education
Huera-Huarte finished his degree in Mechanical Engineering (Ingeniero Industrial) at Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona in 2002. He continued his doctoral studies at Imperial College London, obtaining his PhD at the Department of Aeronautics in 2006. From 2008 to 2010 he conducted research as a Postdoctoral Scholar in Aerospace at the Guggenheim Aeronautical Laboratory of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), thanks to a Marie Curie IOF Fellowship.
Career
Huera-Huarte joined University of Rovira i Virgili in 2006, where he established the Fluid–Structure Interactions Laboratory (LIFE). His research interests cover a wide range of topics in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics and fluid-structure interactions. In addition, he has been a visiting professor at Caltech[2] during summers of 2014, 2015 and 2018, at ESPCI ParisTech[3] in 2015, and at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2016. Since early 2018, he has been an Associate Editor of the Journal of Fluids and Structures.[4]

Awards and recognition
In 2007, he was awarded by the European Commission a Marie Curie International Outgoing Fellowship (IOF). Later, in 2014 he received the Agustín de Betancourt y Molina Award given by the Royal Academy of Engineering (Spain),[5][6] and in 2015, he received the Isabel P. Trabal Award[7][8] from the Fundación Caja de Ingenieros.
