Fred Rast was born in Switzerland[1] and graduated from San Jose State University in 1979.[2] Fred has since been teaching Saxophone and Clarinet as well as making mouthpieces for woodwind instruments.[3] Fred has been teaching at Music Village in San Jose, CA since 1979.[4] He performed on clarinet with the Saratoga Symphony, as lead alto sax in the Bob Bouchard Big Band, and in several other bands including The Alpiners and Jose Bowen's Klezmer band.
Fred has recorded with the Paul Price's Society Orchestra, Chico Bavarian Band and Marijan Kramar's Oberkrainer Band.
Fred teaches woodwinds instruments at Music Village
