Frederic Will (born on 4 December 1928) is an American philosopher and professro. His father was chair of French and Italian at the universities of Illinois and Indianna. . Will himself was eaised in the American Midwest, He was educated at Laval University in Quebec, Indiana Uviversity, and Yale, where he got his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature in 1955.


Will has taught--Comparative Literature and Glassics--at many Universities, in the U.S. and abroad: Dartmouth, Penn State, University of Iowa, University of Massachusetts; and in Germany, Tunisia, Chad, Chang sha, and Mizoram. IHe has had five Fulbrights). He has written widely, in literary theory, pertry and histury of ideas. He has published over sixty books in those fields, and established an usually wide attention for breadth of insight. Among his achievements are the Co-Founding of the classical journal Arion at the University of Texas in the sixties; substantial contribuyions of lyric poetry to journals like Poetry, and the American Poetry Review, while Directing the Translation Workshop at yhe University of Iowa; creation of a post retirement collection of new direction critical books with Cambridge Scholars in Newcastle, England. In addition Will has written travel, short fiction. and daily perception books.

Will is married to Julie Omotejohwho and lives in both Nount Vernon, Iowa and Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria. He has six childres: Alex, Barbara, Chris, Carson, Kyle and Jennife.r.


Frederic Will has written about the Warri Times,[1] owned by Isaiah Ogedegbe,[1] in his 2017 book.[2] He has also mentioned the Warri Times in another of his 2019 book.[3]
