Free Lives (Pty) Ltd is an independent South African video game developer based in Cape Town, South Africa, founded in April 2012 by creative director Evan Greenwood. They are best known for developing Broforce, which entered Steam Early Access on 7 April 2014, and was released on 15 October 2015.
On 1 September 2016, the company's offices were temporarily moved to Tamarin, Mauritius, where the team would focus on developing game jam games, and producing their episodic documentary, Game Jam Island.[1] During their stay in Tamarin, they released Genital Jousting, a sports party game, into Steam Early Access on 17 November 2016, and finished fighting game Yojimbrawl!, the Humble Original for the December 2016 Humble Monthly Bundle, which was released on 2 December 2016. Free Lives returned to Cape Town on 1 December 2016.
