Verdis, officially the Free Republic of Verdis, is a self-proclaimed sovereign state, commonly known as a micronation, located on a piece of disputed land between Croatia and Serbia, commonly known as pocket 3 of the Croatia-Serbia border dispute.[4][5] Verdis is dedicated to being the worlds most environmentally conscious state.[6][7] It is known for its dense population plans and major funding in advertising to properly establish the project.

Population[edit]

There are around 109 people who have been accepted for citizenship, with the Verdisian Government being very selective about who gets citizenship and who doesn't as there are hundreds of people constantly applying for citizenship. The Verdisian Government only plans to fit 15,000 residents on its claim. The Verdisian Government plans to place infrastructure and populate the claim once enough plans and funds are made to begin the first step on the claim.[8]

Territory[edit]

Verdis is near another self-proclaimed micronation, Liberland. Verdis claims pocket 3 of the Croatia-Serbia border dispute. The Verdisian Government consider themselves the rightful claimant to their territory as they are the oldest active entity to lay claim to the land, stating that it is rightfully theirs according to the laws of terra nullius, with the same law working with Liberland on their pocket.[9]
