Freelance is a Canadian comic book superhero. Created by Ed Furness & Ted McCall, the original Freelance first appeared in Anglo-American Publishing's Freelance Vol. 1 (1941).[1] Freelance's series lasted for 35 issues until January 1947.[2]

In 2017, Freelance and team were reimagined for Chapterhouse comics on a new ongoing series.[3]

Publication history

Anglo-American Publishing

Freelance was first introduced in Freelance Comics #1 in August-September 1941. He partnered up with Big John Collins and Natasha, a mysterious Russian woman. Although some of his adventures have been catalogued, a number of issues have been lost to time.

Lev Gleason Publications

In 2017, Chapterhouse Comics reimagined Freelance as a member of the god-like species, The Lost. Lance Valiant travels the world with his boyfriend, John Cabot, and friend Tasha Kolchak. Freelance crosses paths with other heroes of the Comic House Universe, eventually joining the superhero organization, Equilibrium.[4]
