Freeskipper Italia is a website of news powered by volunteers and non-professional writers, created in June 2010, offering items by single or multiple writers. Freeskipper is one of the first citizen journalism websites in Italy.
Editorial policy[edit]
Editorial policy calls for the "publication of unpublished stories, discovered by citizens". To comment on existing information and carry out criticism of its treatment in the media, especially in areas where there is a climate of mistrust about it. The site also carries many feature articles, stories already published elsewhere, comments and editorials often published in an website. Articles sent by citizens can be edited, corrected or reduced by the editorial staff. All articles posted on Freeskipper may be released by third parties on other websites. The legal responsibility of an article is left to its author, who has the opportunity to retrieve it from the immediate view by reporting it to the editorial with a "delete and/or modify" email. The editors who run the site believe that it benefits from a deep internal tendency in Western societies: "participation" of citizens, whose word would be censored by the mainstream media run by multinationals.
Right of Reply[edit]
Right of Replica L. No. 47/1948. Anyone who has been offended by some content may have the right to reply and write to the editorial staff. The published content will be changed or removed immediately.
