The Fresno nightcrawlers, also known as Fresno aliens,[1] are purported entities reported to have been sighted in the city of Fresno in Fresno County, California, United States, and later in California's Yosemite National Park.

The Odyssey Online reported that the first video dates back to the 1990s.[2] The video is claimed to have resulted from an anonymous home owner in south Fresno, California having installed surveillance cameras to capture evidence of neighborhood dogs trespassing in his yard,[3] although this is unverified. The video, which was claimed to have been obtained from one of the individual's security cameras, shows two pale, long-legged entities striding across the lawn.[2]

In 2011, another video appeared on YouTube by the YouTube channel sierraparahunter, allegedly showing the same beings. The footage shows a pair of bipedal humanoids with similar appearances to those shown in the original Fresno footage.[4] The footage, however, has not been authenticated and neither is its origin known, while the uploader of the video to YouTube sierraparahunter states that it was recorded by their friends on a security camera. According to The Sun, the beings have reportedly been recognized by a local Native American tribe, and certain Native American wood carvings have been noted as bearing a significant resemblance to the Fresno nightcrawlers.[2][5]

In popular culture[edit]

The original Fresno surveillance footage was featured on the second episode of the first season of the paranormal investigation television series Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, which originally aired in 2010.[6][7]
