Friedrich Thelen
Friedrich Thelen (born 16 October, 1941) is a German journalist and lobbyist.

Friedrich Thelen was born in Berlin in 1941. He grew up in Western Germany and studied Law, Economics and Philosophy in Marburg, London and Strasbourg. He passed the German bar exam and obtained a doctorate in Philosophy. He is also a John F. Kennedy Memorial Fellow of the Center for European Studies at Harvard University.[1]
He began his career as a journalist working for selected newspaper outlets. He was the Foreign Editor at Christ und Welt from 1974 – 1975 and held the position of Director of the German Peace Corps from 1975 to 1976. He joined the Wirtschaftswoche in 1978 and remained at the publication close to 30 years. He led the political division and was chief of the Bonn and Berlin office.[2][3]
Throughout his journalistic career he acted as commentator, host and presenter in talk shows and panel discussions on tv and radio.[4]
Friedrich Thelen is an active member of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik (DGAP), Atlantik Brücke and Tönnissteiner Kreis.
