Frixion
Frixion (Japanese: フリクション), a registered trademark of Pilot Corporation, is a series of writing instruments which ink can be erased by friction. In addition to the gel ink ballpoint pen "Frixion Ball", the company offers a number of products including signature pens, colored pencils, and highlighters.
This series of writing utensils use ink that changes color due to temperature changes. By rubbing with the end of the pen, the handwritten ink becomes colorless due to frictional heat, without leaving scraps. Decolorization is designed to start from 65 ° C, so it is recommended to avoid storing documents in high-temperature environments, which could lead to the written contents being completely erased. Conversely, in an environment below the recoloration temperature (-20 ° C), it is possible to recover the erased contents.
Ballpoint pen "FRIXION ball" was released in 2006 in Europe, and in November of the same year, released the "FRIXION Light" fluorescent pen. The ballpoint pen "Friction Ball" was launched in Japan in March 2007.
