Front is a private company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It develops and markets collaboration software, such as inbox and calendar programs.[1] Front's executive team is 50% female and its staff is 44% female overall, which is unusual for a technology company.[2]
Front was founded in Paris, France in 2013 by current CEO Mathilde Collin and CTO Laurent Perrin.[1] A majority of Front's early users were in the United States, so it moved to San Francisco a few months later.[1] Front participated in the startup incubator program at Y Combinator in 2014 and raised $3.1 million in seed funding.[1] It raised another $10 million in 2016[3] and $66 million in a series B funding round in 2018.[1][4]
Among other things, the company's software consolidates communications from social media, SMS text messages, email, and other sources, into a unified inbox.[2] As of March 2019, there were about 4,700 Front users.[5]
