FunFax
FunFax was a Filofax style system aimed at children aged 6–12 years old consisting of a binder and selection of books with a Hole punch along the spine, that could be stored in the binder. It was first published by Henderson Publishing, now part of Penguin Books [1], in 1990. The original organiser system sold over 5 million copies.
Books
Books were displayed in retail stores in tall carousels that children could turn to see each title. Books were usually educational, and included a wide range of topics such as cars, ancient Egypt, logic puzzles, cookery and magic.
Books also covered popular media, such as Robot Wars (TV series), Harry Potter, Pokémon and Star Wars.
Books were cheaply priced in order to appeal to children with Pocket money.
Variations
Alongside the original FunFax[2], stylised as 'The Organiser Systems' (ISBN 9781855970113), other variations including 'The Joke File' (ISBN 9781855974173), 'Magic Organiser System' (ISBN 1855970113) and 'The Spy File' [3](ISBN 1855973046) were produced. Notably, The Spy File was sold wrapped in brown paper, so as to imitate an intelligence package a spy may receive.
